This high quality, experienced band know that your wedding day will be the most important day of your life and would be honoured to be a part of it. Having quality live music at your wedding always adds a touch of class, and this band's experience of playing weddings and parties is second to none. They have performed at some of the most beautiful and prestigious venues in Scotland (including Balmoral Hotel, Edinburgh, Drumtochty Castle, Scone Palace, Fernie Castle) and have never failed to astound.
They are a five piece band featuring the extraordinary vocal talents of Kim Shepherd and male vocalist Fraser Allan. 
Weddings traditionally have a wide range of ages, with guests enjoying different styles and eras of music. This band's extensive repertoire means that we are equipped to cater for all your guests from ages 8 to 80+! They know exactly what songs will work at the right time, so you can just leave it to them and they will judge the mood as they play, to get everyone dancing and enjoying the party. All types of music are covered from swing to rock, ballads to ceilidh to cater for all of your requirements.
Many couples wish to open the evening with their own choice of first dance. The band are very happy to learn to play this for you, even if it is not included in their current set list. With the instrumentation of guitar, keyboards, bass and drums, the amazing male and female vocalists and tight four part harmonies, almost any song is possible.

- FAQ -

  • For Weddings Cut The Cake usually perform from 8pm-12am with a break during the evening buffet.

    Times can be flexible for other Events. With a maximum of 4 hours including a break.

  • Cut The Cake take around 1 hour (from access to the room) to set up and have a full soundcheck to make sure the band sounds perfect for your event.

  • Typically the length of Scotland and some of Northern England.

    (Long distance journeys are subject to extra cost and accommodation may have to be provided for the band).

  • No, We supply everything we need. All we require is access to a minimum of 2 power points.

  • Yes, we provide our own lighting. However this is for the stage only and may not light up the rest of the room.

  • Smart & Stylish.

  • Yes! We will call all the dances to keep you and your guests right!

  • Yes, we provide background music during the break as well as the start of the evening before the band begins. Alternatively, you can provide us with an iPod/MP3 Player with your own chosen playlist.

  • Yes we are happy to learn your first dance. Due to the band’s busy schedule, we will need a minimum of six weeks’ notice in order to learn and rehearse your chosen song.

  • The band have full control over the song choices and order in which we play them. With years of experience we feel confident in reading the crowd and playing songs best suited to keep the dance floor busy. However, please feel free to tell us some of your favourite songs, or songs you would rather we didn't play, and we can tailor the night to your suit your needs.

  • Unfortunately no. The band can not be held accountable for things being held up during the day of your event. A lot of venues have a curfew for live music and we must abide to them. Performing past midnight would need to be pre-arranged in the booking process and is subject to extra cost.

  • Luckily the band have a fantastic group of professional musicians who are all well rehearsed with our set and can stand in at a moments notice! So if unfortunately a band member is sick or has to cancel due to a personal matter, don’t worry, a musician of the same standard will be in their place and the experience of the your event will be unchanged!
